The Girls' Guide to Love and Supper Clubs

The Girls' Guide to Love and Supper Clubs
By Dana Bate
Hyperion, 2013. 320 pgs. Fiction.

When Hannah Sugarman's high-powered relationship collapses, she seizes the opportunity to do what she's always wanted: cook. Without her landlord's knowledge, she begins an underground supper club which, while highly successful, is also highly illegal. Will Hannah be able to navigate the danger of these secret dinners and still maintain her growing friendship with her landlord?

Dana Bate's writing is fun and light-hearted, and she creates characters that are completely charming. The book has almost a Hollywood romantic comedy feel about it, which gives it a lot of appeal. It's a good book to curl up with on a Saturday afternoon with hot chocolate and a warm blanket.
