Steelheart

By Brandon Sanderson
Delacorte Press, 2013. 386 pages. Young Adult

The world has changed—and not for the better. In Sanderson’s dystopian world a handful of humans have acquired great powers and they use them to rule the world. They’re called Epics and the most powerful Epic of all is the invincible Steelheart. When David was 10 years old his father was killed by Steelheart. David watched him die and now, a few years later, he means to avenge his father’s death. But how do you kill someone who’s invincible? David has some theories.

The pace is quick, the writing engaging, and the characters likable. David repeatedly produces metaphors, often funny, but always awful.  A light, fun & easy read.
