Stealing the Preacher

Stealing the Preacher
By Karen Witemeyer
Bethany House Publishers, 2013. 347 pgs. Romance.

Crockett Archer's dream is finally coming true: he is leaving the family ranch to become the preacher in a neighboring town. But his dream comes to a grinding halt when he is kidnapped from the train by an ex-outlaw determined to fulfill his daughter's birthday wish for a minister to soften her father's stony heart. Crockett manages to escape, but finds he can't forget Joanna Robbins' prayers. Could it be that he was meant to minister in a different way than he had imagined?

Karen Witemeyer is a rising writer in the world of Christian historical fiction and does a great job creating likeable characters. While her plots sometimes border on the impossible, they are really fun and light. A great book to read over the holidays.
