Enchantment

ENCHANTMENT: Orson Scott Card: Ballantine: Fantasy: 390 pages

Ivan, a 20th century scholar, travels back in time to save Sleeping Beauty, the princess Katerina, and help her defeat Baba Yaga, a well-known witch in Russian folklore.

This is my favorite Orson Scott Card book, and it's an especially fun read if you're familiar with Russian folklore and history. There's mild profanity and Ivan and Katerina are married in 9th century Russia amid a lot of ribald humor, so the book's best suited for older teens and adults.
